The traditional French braid will protect your hair from damaging wind and it's a great way to add dimension to your hair without having to curl it.

The Technique: Run a smoothing serum through your hair with your fingers. Part your hair down the middle and secure one side. On the other side, start weaving the braid together at the point closest to your forehead and work your way to the back of the head. Repeat on the other side and secure the finished braids with elastics or clip them together.

Don't just make do with a simple ponytail. Add some texture with waves and let some of it hang out in the front—you can tuck that part behind your ears for a more put-together look.

The Technique: With damp hair, apply a texturizing spray and scrunch the ends until they look like waves. Pull most of your hair into a low ponytail with a hair tie and leave some out in the front (on whichever side of your face you prefer). Spritz a little hair spray over the style and let it air dry.

These loose curls can work for both long and short hair. The best part: the look will come together while you're sleeping!

The Technique: Depending on the size of curls you want, take a section of your hair and split it into two pieces. Apply a curl cream to those parts and twist the sections together—making them into a two-strand twist. Let it sit overnight and then unravel the twists the next day. Fluff a little with your fingers.

The mention of a chignon might evoke a stuffy image, but with the right product, the low-slung style can look cool.

The Technique: Part your hair on your preferred side, then smooth a dollop of cream pomade to either side and gently slick back. Gather your hair at the nape of your neck and twist it—then turn or fold the twist on itself and secure with bobby pins.

Skip the mini flat iron and give your pixie a choppy, edgy look.

The Technique: Rub some of the wax into your fingers and pull hair into chunky sections, concentrating on the top of the head. Smooth the sides down with the remaining wax and take care of any flyaways.

Haven't washed your hair in a while? No problem. A dry shampoo and a little twist will save you.

The Technique: Add dry shampoo to your roots and muss hair until it blends in. Then take a small section from the front of your hair and twist it back toward the crown of your head. Gather a bigger section to create a half-ponytail, then secure it in a bun shape. That's it!
