The Shade: A dark black-red that's delightfully scary
Claim to Fame: The year was 1994, and the rich lacquer—which was made that same year for Chanel's spring 1995 runway show—was already making waves amongst the celebrity set. Madonna wore it in the video for her slow jam "Take a Bow," while Uma Thurman sported the shade in a very important dance scene, as Mia Wallace in the iconic film, Pulp Fiction. The product still exists, but under a different name: Rouge Noir.
