Tip No. 1: Eat Breakfast. Duh.
"Even if you only have 30 seconds, there's a real food solution for you," says Rachel Drori, founder of national smoothie-delivery service Daily Harvest. "Whether that's a ready-to-blend smoothie or overnight oatmeal, there's no excuse to not fuel your body in the mornings." All of the Daily Harvest pre-packed smoothie containers are made up of a mix of flash-frozen fruits and veggies, healthy fats from ingredients like almonds, and added boosts from superfoods like maca. It's a solid formula to take inspiration from. (Or better yet, see if Daily Harvest delivers to where you live.)
Tip No. 2: When Life Gives You Lemons… Have Some in the Morning.
"Drink water with a squeeze of lemon first thing in the morning," urges Drori. "Yes, you've heard this before, but it works! It really helps align your systems for the day to get you started on the right foot."
Tip No. 3: Get Moving. Bust a Move, Even. Just Do Something.
"It's easier to make exercise part of your morning routine than to leave it until the end of the day when you don't know what's in store," suggests Drori. "It doesn't need to be a full sweat sesh. Do a few squats while brushing your teeth, or take the stairs to your office or appointment. It's a great place to start."
Tip No. 4: Center Yourself. And Don't Say You Can't.
"Before the hectic crazies of the day take hold, spend even five minutes clearing your head by closing your eyes and breathing deeply, focusing on that breath," suggests Drori. "I personally love the Headspace app because I'm more likely not to cheat and actually take the time!"
Tip No. 5: Set Your Day's Intentions. You Might Be Surprised.
"During your morning commute, or while waiting for your coffee to drip, think about what you want to accomplish in the day ahead," says Drori. "You are much more likely to actually accomplish a task if you set your intentions at the start of the day."
Now that you know how to supercharge your morning, add this tropical smoothie to the mix.
