A popular weekend trip from Medellin, Guatapé is where both Colombians and tourists go to get lost in a wonderful maze of winding streets and blindingly bright colors. Nearly all of the dazzling buildings lining the streets are decorated with "sockets" which are tiles of imagery often related to the town's history, or sometimes even the wares within a particular shop.
