The Movie: Romeo + Juliet
The Song: "Kissing You" by Des'ree
Why It's Unforgettable: In true Baz Luhrmann form, the entire soundtrack for this movie is pure gold—but the one scene that always gets me is when Romeo (played by a young and handsome Leonardo DiCaprio) sees Juliet (played by an equally young and beautiful Claire Danes) for the first time. Des'ree herself croons the impossibly romantic ballad on screen during the masquerade as the two star-crossed lovers eye each other through a fish tank. If you haven't seen the updated classic, add it to your Netflix queue stat.

The Movie: Marie Antoinette
The Song: "I Want Candy" by Bow Wow Wow
Why It's Unforgettable: What other song could accompany such a decadent, lush montage with photography that looks like it's literally been soaked in candy syrup? Merchants present Marie Antoinette and her friends with yards and yards of taffetas, silks, brocades, and pairs upon pairs of ridiculous heels, while the women eat cake after cake after cake. Sure, this is what shopping looks like when nobility lock themselves in a gilded palace and drag their economic system into total ruin, but it's also what shopping looks like in my dreams, with that exact song as the soundtrack. I want candy, and I want that hot pink taffeta gown.
