With the RokBlok, the designers at San Francisco-based design company Pink Donut have taken the concept of the turntable and turned it on its head. Instead of making a machine that spins records, they have created a cute little device that spins itself around the record, emitting sound from its built-in speaker.
Billed as "the world's smallest wireless record player," the machine's weight (all 3.2 ounces of it!) is distributed between its rubber wheels in order to prevent it from doing any harm to your vinyl collection. On its own, it's certainly more of a novelty than a full-on sound system, but here's the rub: it's Bluetooth capable! Press the button on its side, and you can easily connect the RokBlok to the closest bluetooth speaker or headphones for an enhanced audio experience.
If you consider yourself an audiophile, is the RokBlok for you? Probably not. But if you've been meaning to get into vinyl, or have been looking for an easy way to listen to records when you're away from home, it most definitely is.
