Run by the English post-punk band Wire, Drill obeys no fixed format. Full of smart, spartan rock, it appears at irregular intervals, and the events range in length, though they often culminate with an orchestra of guitars performing Wire's largely two-chord song "Pink Flag."
"Electronic music," broadly speaking, is the theme of Moogfest, named after Bob Moog, creator of his eponymous synthesizer. But the strength of this festival lies in how it divides, and sharpens, that neutral category into themes. Flying Lotus and Animal Collective are among this year's headliners.
