Uberta Zambeletti—founder and owner of Milanese boutique Wait and See—loves sparkles, glamour, and everything else about Italian fashion.More
Uberta Zambeletti, fashion design consultant and owner of Milan fashion boutique, Wait and See, likens her city to a box of chocolates: "If you open it and have enough curiosity to unwrap each one and taste it, you will be pleasantly surprised." The fashion capital of Italy certainly has a charm that reveals itself slowly, rewarding closer inspection.
Fittingly, Zambeletti's shop is in what she describes as the "backstage" of Milan: a behind-the-scenes spot in the "5Vie" district which is one of the city's oldest; Wait and See is housed within what was once an 18th-century convent. "With its wooden ceilings, arches, and partial brick walls, the store already had a lot of charm on its own," she says. The unique setting and decor, which Zambeletti designed herself, speaks to her love of unusual and singular design. One only has to look at Zambeletti's colorful Instagram feed, @ubertazambeletti, to get a sense of the quintessentially joyful, Italian quirkiness that defines her store, and her sense of style.
