Ensure your most reliable pieces are at the ready by designating an impossible-to-miss spot for them in your closet or dresser. Include a mix of tops and bottoms that always come to the rescue, like the jeans in that wash that goes with everything, or the black skirt that you always forget is so flattering. Next to this section, put the items you want to wear more—maybe a new top with exaggerated sleeves or your middle school Adidas track jacket that you know is ripe for a comeback.
Similarly, you'll want to get the pieces you wear infrequently out of prime wardrobe real estate and off to the side (or in storage). This includes anything that doesn't make sense for the season's weather, dressy clothes you only break out for special occasions, and pieces that you're just not feeling right now.
One more weekend organizational project that'll pay dividends come Monday: Identify your multiple personalities, style-wise. Maybe some of your closet is cool streetwear pieces, another chunk is all denim and oversize button-downs, and the rest is band tees and cut-offs. They're all you, just for different occasions. Make picking the day's costume easier by grouping each style set together; that way, if you feel the tug to wear a certain top, the bottoms that look best with it will be right there. Good to go.
