The Perfect Fall Duster

The Straggler: Wool Duster Jacket, $150, us.topshop.com.

Picked By: Chantal Strasburger, assistant editor, @chantagold

Why It's in Shopping Cart Limbo: Long jackets are my achilles heel (just ask my roommate—I have a whole rack of them stored year-round in our living room), so the last thing I need is another one to wear once before the heavy-duty winter coat becomes my uniform. But this color! The fabric! The fit! Everything about it is screaming my name. Thoughts?

The Shiniest Sneakers Ever

The Straggler: Air Max 1 Premium iD in Metallic Silver, $175, nike.com.

Picked By: Catherine Fuentes, managing editor, @cat_fuentes

Why It's in Shopping Cart Limbo: Sweet is a safe place, right? I have to admit that I have a total addiction to buying new sneakers. I know I don't need a pair of silver metallic kicks, but I can't help but want these big time. I just have visions of myself walking around the city in my fall uniform of a close-to-all-black outfit, a black leather jacket, and these silver Air Maxes brightening my every step. And when it's cold out, isn't it nice to be able to look down and see an instant mood-booster?

A Cozy Fringed Poncho

The Straggler: Technica Striped Fringe Poncho Scarf, $165, intermixonline.com.

Picked By: Natalia Tyndall, administrative assistant, @tallylabella

Why It's in Shopping Cart Limbo: Ponchos are the perfect fall accessory, and exactly what I want to wear while curled up next to my imaginary fireplace, sipping something warm. This one has been on my mind since I first saw it, it's also an exclusive, but I can't help but think there's something less expensive (and just as cozy) out there.

Low-Key Embroidered Jeans

The Straggler: Rivet + Thread Embroidered Star Jeans, $225, madewell.com.

Picked By: Caitlin Petreycik, senior fashion editor, @c_petreycik

Why It's in Shopping Cart Limbo: In theory, I should definitely buy these jeans—they're a slightly fancier version of something I wear every minute I'm not at work!—but I haven't pulled the trigger because I'm a serial outfit repeater. The beauty of jeans is that no one really notices if you wear the same pair three days in a row, but that all goes out the window once you throw embellishments into the mix. Still, they're the first cute, embroidered pair I've seen that aren't a blatant Gucci ripoff.

The Dreamiest Bomber Jacket of All

The Straggler: Alecta Embroidered Bomber Jacket, $176, frockandfrill.com.

Picked By: Rebecca Deczynski, editorial assistant, @rebeccadecz

Why It's in Shopping Cart Limbo: I have a denim jacket. I have a leather jacket. But I don't have a bomber jacket—and this embroidered option from Frock & Frill strikes the perfect balance between my love of all-black ensembles and my newfound appetite for pops of pink. I'll admit, I'm not one to spend nearly $200 on a jacket that's not going to keep me warm all winter—but since this beauty is nearly sold out, I also don't want to have jacket FOMO if I don't have it in my clutches by the time temperatures hit the 70s. I deserve this, right? Right?!

A Topcoat Fit for a Dandy

The Straggler: Regent Topcoat in Double-Serge Wool in Heather Acorn, $350, jcrew.com.

Picked By: Rebecca Bates, senior editor, @re.beccabates

Why It's in Shopping Cart Limbo: I. Love. Coats. I love coats in a cocoon shape. I love coats with an A-line cut. I love trench coats. I love long field jackets. I love velvet tuxedo blazers. And I especially love menswear-inspired topcoats that hit at almost knee-length with a fitted sleeve, a high collar, in any and every neutral shade. But this particular coat (as close to a dream coat as I may ever get) is $350, and it's still 90 degrees here.

A Jean Jacket for the Fall

The Straggler: Sherpa Trucker Jacket, $128, levi.com.

Picked By: Stefan Marolachakis, senior editor, @stefanmymind

Why It's in Shopping Cart Limbo: I already have a trusty jean jacket. It's a vintage Levi's number I bought years ago for $20, back when $20 seemed like a lot to spend on a new jacket. But, much as I love it, I can only really wear it for a few weeks a year, in the early days of fall and the late days of spring. Now this is a jean jacket I could wear deep into the early days of winter! But does it seem a little redundant to buy another denim jacket? And maybe even a little bit mean to my ol' faithful?

A Statement Wedge

The Straggler: Puma x Fenty Sneaker Boot Wedge, $350, puma.com

Picked By: Leila Brillson, interim executive editor, @leilza

Why It's in Shopping Cart Limbo: Confession: I am 32. I am a 32-year-old woman who secretly dreams of leading a coven full of Kylo Ren-looking witches into some sort of medieval battle, using spells, maybe? I also have just been living for this Fenty/Puma collection, and this boot speaks to my inner goth in very serious tones. But it is pretty, well, young. Can I imagine stomping my way to work in such a boot? I do not know. I honestly don't, so tell me, internet.
