No matter where you live, certain sneakers serve as the uniform for your childhood. In some places, they're known as "skippies," elsewhere, "sandshoes;" in England—home of fast-rising footwear label Primury—"plimsoll" is the term of choice for children's athletic shoes. Whatever you call them, those simple silhouettes cue up memories of simpler times, and Primury, founded in 2014, wants to take you back to those days.
The label deals in classic plimsoll shapes and lends them a sophisticated, unisex look. "It's good not to be restricted by inspirations influenced by gender," notes co-founder Ben Read. The current collection consists of three silhouettes: the Basal, Fabl, and Curio, all of which are offered in options of vegetable-tanned, grain, and nappa leather uppers. The results are play shoes you'll be able to get away with at work.
