Let summer 2016 be the season that sequins break free of their Vegas weekend/holiday party/senior prom confines and take to the streets. Everything's better with sparkles, and there are two main tricks to making disco ball levels of shine work for daytime. One: pay attention to shape. A slinky, sequined mini-dress may read as clubby but a boxy shift can be easily dressed down. Two: wear sequins like you wear your basics. If you're a jeans-and-tees girl, try a sparkly top with your denim. Or, if slip dresses and Stan Smiths are your warm-weather uniform, add a shiny version of that same silhouette to the rotation.
