14 Outfits That Prove Pattern-Mixing Is Everything

Is your fashion game in a state of ennui? Put the excitement back in your look with our new style mantra: pile on the prints. See how below.

In our opinion, Miuccia Prada is a fashion pioneer. For as long as we can remember, she's been a creative force in the industry, and her collections for both Prada and Miu Miu always seem to drive not only the runway trends but street style, as well. Her recent Miu Miu resort range—complete with vibrant patterns and quirky graphics—is no exception and is enough inspiration for us to take a new approach to getting dressed. And by that we mean: pile on the prints.

The thought process itself is actually quite simple. When it comes to wearing patterns, more is more. First off, it's best to choose two prints in a similar color palette, so stay away from mixing neons with pastels or loud motifs with quiet ones. Secondly, when choosing a more vibrant pattern, make sure the silhouette is more traditional. Otherwise, you will venture into costume territory. Last but not least: don't be afraid to have a little fun. Isn't that what fashion is ultimately all about, anyway?

Read on for two weeks' worth of outfits to get your print-on-print style journey started.
