When Acne Studios creative director Jonny Johansson set out to create the brand's first full range of bags, he wasn't designing with the latest trends in mind. Instead, he approached the task from a sculptural perspective. "For me a bag is more than an object, it's a personal thing," he says. "When I started looking at bags, the intention was not to do an 'It bag,' but to explore the world of bags and create different styles and characters."
For inspiration for the range, which launched this week, Johansson looked to the rope detailing seen in the brand's fall/winter 2015 collection and the stitching on classic denim jeans. The results? Polished and impossibly cool styles. Sorry, Jonny, achieving "It bag" status seems inevitable.
